A Private 7,500-Acre Hunting Haven. White River National Forest.

High-elevation fair chase hunting for elk and mule deer, surrounded by miles of pristine Colorado wilderness near Kremmling.

Private land. Big Bulls.

Piney Peak Ranch

Piney Peak is a 7,500-acre, high-elevation private ranch that has served as a haven for big game for more than four decades. Each season, the property supports roughly 400–500 elk along with strong numbers of mule deer, and its northern Colorado setting outside Kremmling places you right in the heart of classic Rocky Mountain hunting country. Completely surrounded by the White River National Forest, Piney Peak offers a rare combination of privacy, expansive terrain, and the kind of quiet you only get when public pressure is miles away.

The experience is designed to be straightforward and comfortable: quality lodging, guided hunting, and help coordinating the next steps after a successful harvest. Game processing is available through local processors and is the hunter’s expense, but we’ll assist with logistics so your focus stays on the hunt. Whether you’re chasing your first bull or returning for a familiar camp, Piney Peak delivers the full-package feel of a true private ranch hunt—remote, productive, and well cared for.

At the center of it all is the Log Cabin at Piney Peak Ranch—our original cabin and the main guest lodge. It’s warm, practical, and full of western character, a place built for early mornings and relaxed evenings after a long day on the mountain.

Accommodations include a first-floor master bedroom with a queen bed, plus four bedrooms upstairs: two rooms with queen beds and two rooms with twin beds. In total, the cabin comfortably sleeps up to seven guests, making it a great fit for a small group who wants to stay together, share the experience, and enjoy a classic Colorado cabin basecamp in the middle of exceptional elk and mule deer habitat.
